Approach
Version one is a Next.js app with a custom Socket.IO server and Prisma. Version two is a React 19, Vite and Convex app where the reactive database replaces the socket layer, with guest sign-in and shareable game links. Comparing the two is a good lesson in what a managed realtime backend removes.
